Discovery bench scientist position with a focus on pharmaceutical target identification and mechanistic research as well as assay development and implementation for interrogation of said targets and biological mechanisms, generally relating to immunological and inflammatory biology.Typical assays range across in-vitro and ex-vivo cell-based assays, immunoassays of biological and cellular supernatant samples, and flow cytometry.

Principal Investigator role in the execution of studies with involvement by the Biomarkers and Investigative Pathology department. Responsibilities include project management, data review, interpretation of results, report section and protocol writing, and consultation for feasibility and approach in proof of biology, method development, validation, and analytical production portions of studies, primarily in the utilization of flow cytometry and plate-based ligand-binding assays.

Routine operational coordination and oversight of an 11 (and growing) member analytical laboratory leveraging ligand-binding assay approaches over three disciplinary sub-divisions: Immunohistochemistry, ELISA and related biotechnology methods, and Flow Cytometry.Provide scientific consultation and project proposal feasibility for day to day operations, data review, and laboratory growth projection and process change controls.

Day to day coordination of laboratory operations for a technical staff of ten employees, five of whom being direct reports, along with two scientific project managers.An expansion of the role of Associate Scientist with continued mentoring and career development of technical staff, expanded role in client consultation and project scheduling, and offering routine scientific advise and input in to project protocols, SOP documents, method authorship, and assay development and execution. Additionally responsible for finding, developing, and implementing operational efficiency initiatives in order to increase departmental return on investment.

Routine implementation and execution of validated analytical methods in the extraction and analysis of biological matrices in a production cGLP/cGMP environment.Validation and development of analytical methods.Performance of pilot non-GLP analytical method development for analysis of a variety of biological matrices, including organ tissue homogenate.Routine and proficient use of analytical instrumentation, primarily LC-MS/MS platforms with Sciex Analyst and Watson LIMS software packages for instrumentation interface and data treatment.

Implementation and execution of protocol and SOP-driven sample processing.
