The main responsibilities of this role included:Ensuring the safe storage and distribution of taxpayer data in accordance with data protection laws.Customer support function in liaising with members of the public in handling subject access requests and data breaches.Assisting senior colleagues in preparing documents for FOI-related court hearings.Assessing customer feedback to produce actionable procedural improvements.

The main responsibilities of this role included:Operational tasks including the active management of asset positions and ledgers and the creation and monitoring of dashboards to assist the trading team.Collaboration with the finance team in compiling management accounts, shareholder reports and month-end reconciliations.Processing and recording of financial transactions.Project-based work including the development and automation of spreadsheets for monitoring key indicators related to the operations of the Hedge Fund.

Following the completion of the 2nd semester of study for my masters, I returned to my previous role with the Government of Jersey on a part-time basis whilst I continued to work on my dissertation. The content of the role is the same as for the full-time role listed below.

The main responsibilities of this role included:Supporting senior civil servants in their work on a wide array of tax policy initiatives. Extensive statistical work in MS Excel to predict the impact of policies.The drafting of briefing papers and official government policy documents.Involvement in the designing of public consultations into proposed tax policies.Key Achievements:Contributed to the drafting of the Government of Jersey’s Government Plan.Presented research findings to government ministers and department heads.

Responsibilities:Responding to taxpayer enquiries by telephone, letter, email and in person.Testing updates to the revenue management system.Investigations into corporate tax returns to determine the validity of expenses and claims.Drafting of standard operating procedure (SOP) documents.Key Achievements:Took leadership in training new hires in accordance with SOP documents to expedite onboarding.Consistently received positive feedback from taxpayers within the customer feedback portal.

The role involved working with the money laundering reporting officer to consolidate company records in order to identify and address existing shortcomings and improve the company's compliance with Jersey Financial Services Commission requirements regarding the holding of accurate, complete and up-to-date client information.
