Sheffield Hallam University is the fourth largest university in the UK by student population (approx 40,000) with 4,000 academic and admin staff.I am currently working as a systems specialists with emphasis on analysis and technical project management. This role requires me to work closely with internal and external staff (both technical and in the business) to ensure the delivery of complex technical systems.Projects include:Implementation of a new HR systemSince 2011 the university has been implementing a new HR system to manage both personnel and payroll. I've been working closely with the external provider and key contacts within HR, Finance and IT to ensure all technical aspects of the project are delivered on time with minimal issues.Online Graduation Booking and ManagementImplementation of online booking and management of Graduation ceremonies within the existing student management system. The project has taken an aggressive approach to ensure maximum functionality was delivered to both students and graduation office staff in order to reduce manual effort, eliminate paperwork and introduce online, PCI compliant payment.Ofsted TrackerEnables the university to track performance of teacher trainees through several cycles of school placements. The system provides an early warning system to academic staff that allows early intervention for students who may require additional support in addition to statutory reporting for any Ofsted inspections undertaken at the university. The tracker has been instrumental to the university being able to demonstrate the excellent levels of support available to students and to safeguard the universities reputation in this area.
