As a Senior Planner with CDM Smith, Mr. Avner uses his 16 years experience working with and developing travel demand models in several software packages including TransCAD, TRANPLAN and Cube Voyager. While with CDM Smith, his experince has been in several states including Utah, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, California, Hawaii and Texas. Jonathan’s experience has focused on both passenger and freight at a local level and statewide scales. Jonathan is a Senior Modeler / Project Manager that has completed projects with several MPO and State DOTs developing and applying new travel demand models for plan updates, preliminary toll feasibility, and NEPA corridor studies. His experience includes all aspects of travel demand modeling including model development (estimation, calibration and validation), application and refinement of models, and development of model scripts in GISDK and CUBE Voyager. In addition to his experince in the United States, Jonathan has experince in the Middle East including in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

As a Transportation Planner, Mr. Avner was involved in the development of travel demand models for MPOs in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Arkansas. This work included model estimation using Household Travel Survey data. While with BLA, Jonathan was responsible for the integration of a toll choice model into the Indiana Statewide Travel Demand Model.

As a Transportation Planner, Mr. Avner was involved in the development of an eight county travel demand model that incorporated two MPO models (Austin and San Antonio). Model design of each MPO area was incorporated into final model design. The model was used to develop forecasts on proposed toll corridors (SH130) in the region. In addition, Mr. Avner applied travel demand models for numerous corridor studies and subarea studies.

As a Transportation Analyst, Mr. Avner was responsbile for the development of corridor and project level traffic forecasts and the development and application of travel demand models in MPOs in Texas.
