The HeadStart Fellowship is a free student-led mentorship program designed to give high-achieving college students a head start on their professional and personal development. The program provides students with exposure to professional opportunities and guidance within the technology, finance & consulting fields.

As founder and president of J.B Operations, our goal is to make an ethical impact in the real estate market. Our work pertains to the management of Chicago rental properties (Airbnb and public market listings) as well as oversight and assistance of home development and new construction projects. We continue to make efforts to understand and test different market trends for optimal value in not only profit but customer satisfaction.

Scholars of Finance is a rapidly growing organization on a mission to inspire character and integrity in the finance leaders of tomorrow, seeking to solve the world’s largest problems by investing in undergraduate students through leadership development, mentorship, and the active support of hundreds of purpose-driven finance executives and investors.As one of the Duke Chapter founders, my job as a leadership team member is to ensure successful implementation of the Scholars of Finance values on campus, including integrity, curiosity, and ethically driven results. Leaders will meet on a weekly basis to discuss growth prospects of the club and member recruitment, as well as set up events including guest speakers in the financial industry and educational programs.

As a loan officer, my job elevated to meeting with clients and realtors to ensure that their home needs were met. I worked on multiple deals with other loan officers, helping loans get from processing to closing through keeping track of appointments, deadlines, and client responsibilities. Working with clients usually entailed detailing their credit score, ways to improve their loan interest rate and pricing, and practicing fiscal conservation throughout the process. I also managed revenue reports with Quickbooks to keep track of profit margins and loan officer efficiency.

As Operations Assistant, my work pertained to maximizing efficiency in the office through excel modernization, processing of loan pertinent documents, and reporting office goals and deadlines. In the meantime I worked on obtaining my NMLS Loan Origination license in Illinois to ensure that I was knowledgeable on the loan process to best help my coworkers.

The Krupnick Approach offers academic and educational assistance to students ranging from middle school to graduate school who are looking to benefit from additional one-on-one support. I was personally asked by the CEO to be the first intern to help spread the network of the company and modernize its tutoring approach. As an intern, I worked with excel to analyze trends in ACT and SAT answers to tailor tutor tactics, recruited new members to the program, and helped increase student ACT scores by an average of 7 points. Once more interns joined the team, I became the management that helped train and reported progress to the CEO. This was valuable experience with a startup that helped me become comfortable with taking a leadership role in a new environment.

Sponsored by Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Leadership in the Business World (LBW) is an intensive summer program for a select group of rising high school seniors who want an introduction to a top-notch undergraduate business education and the opportunity to hone their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.I had the opportunity to work with a team of 10 over the course of a month to develop a business plan of our choice. Complemented with foundational courses in marketing, accounting, and finance, my team was able to successfully create a plan for a non-profit venture focused on making reading comprehension more fun and accessible to underperforming public school districts.
