Environmental scientist turned policy wonk. Interested in farming, land use and conservation policy.I am currently a Senior Civil Servant, heading up the policy, strategy, comms and engagement team in Defra where we are reforming farming in England. As part of my role I work across Government to ensure we understand our goals, are making best use of the budget (£2.4b/yr) and that we are working with and talking to stakeholders and farmers. I previously worked for the CLA where I lead on environmental land use policy, providing advice to members and representing the CLA within UK and European institutions and Governments.Prior to the CLA I was Senior Consultant at a research consultancy where I supported and managed research and evaluation projects for UK and international clients. As part of this role I worked half-time as a Policy Evaluation Fellow - working to improve policy evaluation across Defra.I built on my initial Environmental Science degree (BSc hons) with a MSc (Distinction) in Environmental Technology (Environmental Analysis and Assessment) at Imperial College London’s Centre for Environmental Policy.
