I serve as a staff aide for Caleb Kershner, the Catoctin District Supervisor. My main duties are project management, writing and editing our emails and social media communications, boiling down hundreds of pages of documents into executive summaries, and managing/analyzing any large datasets we come across.

Shadowed the president and general manager of a company as they made strategic decisions and handled daily operations for their pesticide importing firm.

Evaluated our communication efforts with Google Analytics, Hotjar, and RealMagnet; pulled large datasets from those sources and combined them in Excel and Power BI for better analysis; reduced the findings to executive reports, which I presented to the president, vice-presidents, and other stakeholders. Served as an analyst on the Business Intelligence Committee. Used VBA to build spreadsheets that helped me analyze large datasets.Edited a wide variety of text and graphics, including emails, webpages, magazine articles, and (on one occasion) an entire civics curriculum.

Produced weekly episodes of the Home School Heartbeat radio show and podcast. Refined and streamlined the show’s production process into a single detailed flowchart, which I later used to train the next producer. Helped edit text and graphics for the nonprofit’s webpages and magazine articles.Began using Google Analytics to track traffic to our podcast episodes; this task expanded into a wide-ranging analysis of key parts of our website. Helped conduct an in-house focus group on HSLDA’s weekly email newsletter.

Oversaw the design, development, and rollout of a hands-on foreign policy simulation, which was used in educational seminars across the country. Authored a detailed storyline based on the organization's initial concepts. Created behind-the-scenes rule systems to translate players' written instructions into geopolitical events. Oversaw the creation of hundreds of realistic reports, communications, and simulated news stories.

Planned and carried out a political survey for over 2,000 voters in local precincts. Recommended improvements to the survey questions. Traveled door-to-door to meet with voters and discuss their thoughts about local issues.

Interviewed clients and drafted wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents. Assisted with trust and estate administration and helped prepare estate tax returns. Directed the search for a missing will, then located missing beneficiaries using the 30-year-old will and online databases. Resolved a fraudulent invoicing scam. Negotiated the restoration of a client's fund by a bank, and the release of a deed of trust on another client's property by Fannie Mae. Tracked down an unlisted, out-of-state legal department and convinced them to accept a subpoena.

Supported a bankruptcy law practice in preparation of Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions. Interviewed clients and prepared and filed bankruptcy petitions with the court. Located real estate assessments.

Worked part-time during the school year and full time after graduation in an immigration law firm. Drafted over 100 support letters for visa petitions. Answered responses from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Tracked proposed amendments to immigration laws and prepared memos on key changes.

Working 16 hours weekly while attending school, provided legal assistance to clients who were unable to pay for a private attorney; areas of representation included divorce, custody and visitation, and child support. Acting under a licensed attorney's supervision, performed all tasks required by counsel in the representation of clients' cases, including case management, client and witness interviews, facts investigation, drafting petitions and other court documents, and mediation. Prepared research memos on Virginia divorce and custody issues.

Researched federal law on political spending by nonprofits.

Worked for the summers of 2004, 2005, and 2007. Managed logistics for $750,000 of commercial pesticides. Handled customs clearance and EPA cargo approval, scheduled port clearance for cargo containers, and coordinated with customers for final deliveries. Performed bookkeeping for logistics charges in the company accounting system.

Developed Secretary Kempthorne’s press release contact and distribution list by researching and contacting over 300 television, radio, and other media entities nationwide.
