As a quality engineer my main responsibilities have included:• Updating and maintaining the relevant documentation of the quality plan to provide a suitable APQP and PPAP process. • Maintaining the standards required for TS 16949 accreditation. Conducting weekly internal audits and ensuring the quality management system is maintained and adhered to.• Completing 8Ds in response to customer concerns – from concern awareness through root cause analysis to resolution and solution implementation.• Contributing to blackroom meetings aimed at driving continuous improvement within the company.• Updating QCIP charts to reflect concessions and care points raised on the corresponding part.• Conversing with customers regarding part concerns.My other responsibilities have included signing first and last offs for production; documenting and distributing internal concerns; raising concession, rework and scrap requests; overseeing the responsibilities of my facilitator and coordinating with all areas of the business to resolve internal and external concerns. I have started a communication book with the night shift in an attempt to provide a greater all round view of quality issues within the company and have petitioned for the addition of a designated Quality Assurance technician to join the night shift team, the position for which is currently being interviewed for. I have also generated a master log for the control of QCIP charts and gauge conditions. This log is implemented by the quality department to track and monitor the key methods for providing quality checks. In addition to this I am tasked with the completion of PDCA sheets to help explain and resolve production issues, such as extended or unforeseen downtime.
