Director Of Marketing, Recruitment And Communications
At BGU, I set and articulate the vision for marketing and student recruitment. I have personally developed and implemented a marketing strategy, specifically designed to increase the volume of enquiries and to aid growth in student numbers. To enable this growth, I have sourced and implemented a CRM system; working with our IT and Systems team to ensure that we maximise the benefit of our investment. The implementation enabled me to ensure we have a customer-focused enquiry journey, in addition to solving issues related to a high staff turnover. This succeeded in lowering the cost-per-enquiry, increasing the volume of interactions we had with each applicant, and improving the average time for making applicant decisions. It also had the impact of improving our offer-to-accept rate and we therefore increased our volume of enrolled students. My role requires me to manage five different teams; Student Recruitment, Admissions, LincHigher (NCOP), Marketing and Events & Alumni. Each team requires a flexible approach to leadership as their roles are linked, but also very different. To develop a performance culture I have created a consistency of approach to communicating with each team about my expectations for them, in addition to empowering managers to find innovative solutions to problems. On a personal level, I have attended international conferences, taken part in an Erasmus+ staff mobility exchange, and attended a variety of UK HE industry conferences related to student recruitment, widening participation and the Augar Review. All of these opportunities have broadened my horizons and allowed me to grow into a more effective leader. Achievements:- Increased application to offer rate at all levels.- Increased offer to accept rate at all levels, with biggest gains made at undergraduate level.- Increased applications to undergraduate programmes within the first 12 months.- Implemented a CRM and developed the full customer journey within the cycle.
