I am a researcher and policy analyst focused on the well-being of immigrant children and families. At the Acacia Center for Justice, I conduct research and program evaluation related to unaccompanied children's access to legal services. I'm also involved in issues related to child migration and immigrant integration, more broadly.Previously, I led work involving unaccompanied children at the Migration Policy Institute, which included projects related to their health and access to public benefits and services. Before that, I was a legislative policy fellow on the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, where I managed a portfolio centered on immigration, human services, and civil rights. I was also a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. As a professor, I founded and directed a research group studying child development, taught and mentored students, and brought social science to the public through community outreach and engagement.
