Currently working as a software developer, using technologies such as Java, MYSQL / Oracle SQL and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.I like to work with application security as well as both front end and back end support.

Since returning to study for my A levels at Worcester Sixth Form College as a mature student in 2015, I have been working as a part time water sports instructor. Duties include providing a high level of customer service and delivering quality tuition to a range of students of varying age and ability. I have been able to balance this with my college work load as my results show. I am continuing my professional development by working towards a Senior Instructor’s qualification which is designed to draw on management abilities to ensure the good practice of a team of instructors and aid in their professional development. Although a water-sports qualification, it will also help develop transferable skills in areas such as situation analysis, project planning, communication and presentation.

Hampshire Outdoor Centres

Originally working as a full-time instructor delivering tailored courses in different outdoor sports, I soon accepted further responsibilities such as those of Course Director and Duty Manager. These were positions of trust and responsibility wherein I was tasked with the smooth running of courses or the Centre. As well as ensuring client development and safety, working in this environment has provided the opportunity for me to develop my skills in communication, teamwork and time management. Acting as Course Director drew on my ability to lead a team of instructors to plan and deliver sessions to a variety of clients in a variety of environments.

Initially I taught a variety of nationally recognized courses then became involved in training new staff, developing their skills in areas in which they were underqualified. This required me to use my initiative and leadership skills to build on my colleague’s abilities and present new skills to them in an effective manner.
