Since joining the team at Accenture I have had the opportunity to:- be the engineering lead for a team of twelve building the next-generation web application for a financial services client. Similar to the delivery lead role at Fairway, in this capacity I was responsible for all technical output of the team, including code quality, accountability for defects, providing architectural guidance, and direct implementation. I worked closely with the customer's product, design, and internal technical teams to coordinate efforts, align to requirements, and guide our delivery team.- provide technical insight and expertise during a number of our pre-sales and sales conversations with potential clients- work with IT leadership at Chevron to assess and review their internal framework for building cloud-native application platform.- accelerate Chevron's internal IAM efforts to migrate hundreds of applications using legacy authentication methods to a cloud-native solution using Azure AD via SAML. In this role I worked with product owners across Chevron providing operational expertise migrating supported applications to SAML authentication as well as assistance with the implementation and refactor of legacy products to become SAML-enabled.

As a Principal Consultant I led a number of successful project deliveries for our clients. The engagement lead role at Fairway was the position ultimately responsible for all aspects of project delivery including team leadership, timeline and budget estimation, requirements gathering and documentation, system architecture and design, and hands-on implementation. Highlights include:- Leading a team of a dozen people including front- and back-end engineers, as well as QA engineers assisting a client with tight feature development deadlines in a complex legacy web application. With our help the client was able to deliver several key features within deadlines promised to their customers.- Leading a cross-functional team of software engineers, designers, and QA engineers creating the next-generation of SmarterBalanced Assessment Consortium's web-based digital library application for teachers. Critical gaps were discovered in the prerequisites for this project requiring re-estimation of timeline and budget and negotiation of requirements. Our team was able to build a strong connection with the client's product owner and technical team. Together we were able to overcome the initial challenges and successfully deliver on the original requirements.- Providing technical leadership and system architecture for a client looking to build the next iteration of their core product (an Angular 7 web application).- Estimation, design, and implementation of automated cost and budget reporting for a public utility district. This involved translation of a manual accounting process into automated and scalable ETL process, data warehousing, and a reporting and visualization platform.In all of these efforts I have been proud of the teams I have led and the quality of the solutions delivered. Despite staffing challenges due to changing client timelines new team members were typically contributing code within the first two days of joining our projects.

Edgecase enabled smaller retailers to provide the same quality of online shopping experience as companies like Amazon and Walmart. With the development of it's own proprietary attribute curation engine, Edgecase was able to provide clean, attributed product information for an entire retailer's catalog.As a Senior Developer I was responsible for the technical design, architecture, and implementation of Edgecase's core curation engine. This included full-stack implementation of a web-based application that streamlined manual curation of large retail datasets, production engineering of our machine-learning based automated curation models, administration of the database technology backing the manual and automated curation processes, large-scale analytics of customer interactions on client properties, and operational support of our AWS infrastructure. In addition to the technical aspects of the position, I and the other senior dev were responsible for working with our product manager to define the product roadmap, providing initial estimates for new features and requirements, managing the technical debt of our code base, and for mentoring the less senior developers.

I was the lead developer responsible for all front-end development across 3M's new tolling solution as well as the lead responsible for the backend implementation several of the microservices that make up the solution. I was also fulfilling many of the DevOps needs of the team. In addition to direct implementation my responsibilities in this role included:- Technical ownership of all front-end architecture and development practices.- Mentoring and teaching junior developers. Several of our team members were new to Backbone and to core JavaScript.- Technical leadership and oversight of four on-site developers and three off-shore teams of developers.- Communication with our customers regarding project requirements and capabilities. I have been responsible on several occasions for explaining to our customers the architecture of our solution and the benefits they can expect to see when using it.- Setup and administration of the team's central git repository (using GOGS).- Authoring and supporting the release process and version control scheme used by the team to deliver builds of the solution to QA and other internal customers.Previous to this project I was responsible for maintaining existing 3M production software. Responsibilities included:- Maintaining our internal time-tracking tools used by multiple 3M departments, spanning roughly 800 people.- Leading the design and implementation of a fundamental architectural change to the time-tracking tool, extending it to work transparently for multiple divisions. It originally had no concept of multiple divisions.- Maintaining a very old (20+ years) facility management product still in regular use by customers. This was a unique challenge as the project integrates components written in over 8 different languages, C being the most common, and C# .NET being the most recent. It also required expertise in embedded hardware control.

Our team was responsible for all the software controlling and supporting the production process, ranging from low-level machine control and automation to the server-oriented infrastructure that supplied production services (key management, product configuration, etc.). Some of my specific responsibilities included:• Developing the machine control software for the next generation of production machines. Thisproject required close cooperation with an international vendor.• Writing production scripts to load product and customer-specific applications and data onto thesecured product (ranging from simple memory cards to highly secured smart cards).• Writing and maintaining library code used by our scripting platform to perform cryptographicauthentication and secure communication with smart cards following the GlobalPlatform specifi-cation.• Supporting production services. This includes troubleshooting service outages, machine opera-tions, and software defects in the final product.• Developing an IDE (based on SharpDevelop) for the in-house scripting language used to controland program the product.

Responsible for supporting the legacy order and fulfilment systems and migrating these systems tomodern technology. Some achievements:• Creating several tools to reduce the time spent managing support requests made of the development team.• Participating in the planning and design of the next generation of the core order placement andfulfilment software (see http://quantumpostcards.com).• Designing and developing the company’s first mobile application with one other coworker (seehttp://quantumdigital.com/qcards)

- Designed a generic SOAP-based Web Service framework for secure online order placement and implemented custom services using this framework for multiple customers. Among the requirements was compliance with the WS-Interoperability standard and security according to the WS-Security standard.- Setup and maintained in-house database, cryptographic, and general-purpose servers, including the implementation of a custom, hardware based cryptographic server.- Designed and developed generic, extensible database reporting software used in production environments worldwide.- Performed trainings for coworkers locally and internationally on topics ranging from industry best-practice to expertise with solutions developed in-house.- Participated in the design and lead the implementation of the production database systems used in the manufacture of the U.S. E-Passport.- Developed several tools used in-house by personalization engineers.
