About Jonathan Bonczyk, Ph.D.
I am an Industrial engineer that loves to work with data not matter what the amount! To me data tells a story waiting to be visualized. Visualization today is a key component in communication with the rapid advancement in technology. Automation of visuals allows for faster implementation and better financial planning. Visuals helped me with my biggest lifestyle change so far by transitioning healthcare and media production. After being able to see the way in which food impacts the body has altered the way I think about food and along with what I eat. Media and music play a huge part of my life because after becoming partially deaf in my left ear I began playing guitar. Once I started playing I couldn’t stop. Being able to visualize what I play through tools like logic pro and garage band, have changed the way I play and how I value music. I plan on continuing my life journey in healthcare and music along with adding vertical farming and veterinary school into my path. Please feel free to reach out and connect!

Systems Integration Engineer
Research Assistant
Graduate Research Assistant/Ta
- I worked alongside my chairman for optimization facility planning along with writing a project on the impact data visualization makes in today’s business and decision making areas with new software like Microsoft power bi and Tableau. - Helped teach the undergraduates systems simulations course. - Project 1 was of research and study towards space optimization in a plant based agriculture environment in regards to vertical farming based on capacity vs. demand. I was able to provide a optimized layout of growing based on multi-variable products that provided max yield of plants.- Project 2 looked at data analytics in healthcare towards diabetes and how to manage and educated people with type 1/type 2 diabetes using app technology.
Quality/Data Analysts Engineer
1. Quality Department: hypothesis testing: (mean comparison, variance testing, 95% or better confidence interval findings, regression analysis, defect rates, system reliability, system risk analysis, machine failure rate, machine repair time), Automated dashboards for the entire 737 assembly line, statistical analysis of trends, system setup optimization. 2. IT: Database development, database architect, created macro-enabled excel sheets for shop floor, created project development databases for Lean and IE department, wrote VBA for excel sheets, worked with SQL database querying, wrote and created SQL tables for aggregation, helped restructure SAP (CRM) system based on company operations, built live interactive dashboards with MS Power BI3. Project Management: Tracked my own projects and cost, managed team databases from MS Access (small groups of 15 to 20 people) but had multiple groups, rolled up dashboards to managers (quality, inventory, manpower models, project improvement plans, cost, savings improvement ratios), tracked all continuous improvement projects, created Non-Value Added Activity (NVAA) analysis charts, percent spent on wasted time, risk analysis simulations of projects, critical path improvements and reduction4. Continuous Improvement/IE: Created floor layouts of the plant, floor space optimization based on operations, space capacity planning, created process improvement projects, found NVAA analysis of mechanics, compared wasted time on the shop floor to standards, set new standards list of operations, redesigned floor structure of plant to reduce movement, helped with rate readiness improvements, created system simulations of bottlenecks, helped track inventory management of tooling and kitting, helped with capacity planning and resource allocating
Director Of Engineering
- I looked at how nutrition within foods affected the body based on vitamin and mineral consumption for diabetes- Created App Analytics Dashboard for users, downloads, and customers- Created marketing dashboard with analytics (page views, organic searches, sessions, source, time trends, demographics, audience), - Standardized Project management process using Trello- Tracked group performance scores (4Dx), created team visuals, created hypothesis tests: (population testing, regression analysis, mean testing, variance testing, correlation findings) using data received from App users- Created statistical analysis over population sizes for predictive analytics- Managed projects between team members using DMAIC methodology
Focused Improvement/Project Engineer
- Engineering: built system simulations of: (assembly line, repair areas, paint line, inventory management), controlled inventory management/cost for certain sections, found NVAA cost analysis, created vendor tracking database, ran quality improvement initiatives, looked into floor space optimization, showed how batch production increases throughput, reduced cycle time by bottleneck improvements, created ergonomic assessment analysis to reduce injury, created BOMs list for different product models, redesigned tooling machines to increase capacity
Undergraduate Research Assistant
- Engineering: created/designed floor plan for new plant, optimized floor plan to reduce floor space and provide insight to alternative designs, helped create mix model simulation, helped increase throughput, reduced cycle time, improved bottlenecks through lean initiative, reduced NVAA of operations, standardized operations, reduced inventory cost
