I have a strong background in the field of space related propulsion technologies and leadership. Since the beginning of my career I’ve worked primarily in liquid propulsion subsystems in the Human Spaceflight (NASA), Commercial Satellite, and Defense industries. I have a subject matter expertise in zero gravity fluid mechanics, propellant management devices, and software/modeling tool development. In recent years, I have developed significant depth in solid rocket motors, control systems, and missile separation mechanics.

One program, GeoEye-2, is a hydrazine monopropellant blowdown system with a diaphragm slosh control device. My responsibilities on this program included blowdown performance, slosh control, feed system pressure characterization, propellant mass gauging uncertainty and some work on propellant loading analysis. I have designed a complete subsystem simulator with a very advanced reaction control system control model with an integrated mass gauging algorithm. I also led a comprehensive study on slosh disturbance using in house test data and over 2000 Flow3D slosh simulations. Over the last 2 years I’ve also been a university recruiter for Lockheed. The MPCV is a human spaceflight vehicle designed to carry humans beyond low Earth orbit. During my two years on this program I performed many analyses including topics on fault detection, slosh mitigation, feed system pressure drop, mass gauging uncertainty, ferric nitrate contamination mitigation, and subsystem filter sizing. Most of my experience was on the service module propulsion subsystem which is a regulated NTO/MMH bipropellant system.
