I am an engaging, big picture thinker, who enjoys leading teams and solving challenging technical and strategic problems. I believe in encouraging excellence in that which drives value for the customer. This requires a long term strategic perspective with short term tactical milestones; during which I’m always asking myself “this is a fun problem, but does this serve the bigger picture”. I’m a transparent communicator as I’ve found that an effective team will respond with productivity when the vision is clear and trust is established. I've been fortunate to experience leadership opportunities in a wide range of capacities including: technical leadership, integrated product leadership, leadership of technical investigations, functional management, financial account management, and "leader of leaders" experience. Ultimately, I enjoy working on high performing teams and helping others to reach their full, and often hidden, potential. I have a strong background in the field of space related propulsion technologies and leadership. Since the beginning of my career I’ve worked primarily in liquid propulsion subsystems in the Human Spaceflight (NASA), Commercial Satellite, and Defense industries. I have a subject matter expertise in zero gravity fluid mechanics, propellant management devices, and software/modeling tool development. In recent years, I have developed significant depth in solid rocket motors, control systems, and missile separation mechanics.

Senior Mechanical EngineerLockheed Martin Jun 2010 - May 2013Sunnyvale, CaFor my three years as a senior mechanical engineer in Space Systems Company in Sunnyvale, CA, I worked as a propulsion subsystem analyst on multiple programs. One program, GeoEye-2, is a hydrazine monopropellant blowdown system with a diaphragm slosh control device. My responsibilities on this program included blowdown performance, slosh control, feed system pressure characterization, propellant mass gauging uncertainty and some work on propellant loading analysis. On the program which I currently work I have had a full scope of propulsion design and analysis activates. I’ve completed a full feed system water hammer model. I have designed a complete subsystem simulator with a very advanced reaction control system control model with an integrated mass gauging algorithm. I also led a comprehensive study on slosh disturbance using in house test data and over 2000 Flow3D slosh simulations. Over the last 2 years I’ve also been a university recruiter for Lockheed. I’ve attended job fairs and performed interviews at Purdue University, Stanford University, University of Michigan, and University of Washington -
Mechanical EngineerLockheed Martin Space Systems Company Aug 2008 - Jun 2010Houston, Texas AreaBetween 2008 and 2010 I worked on the Orion crew exploration vehicle (now the Multi Purpose Crew Vehicle) as a propulsion subsystem analyst. The MPCV is a human spaceflight vehicle designed to carry humans beyond low Earth orbit. During my two years on this program I performed many analyses including topics on fault detection, slosh mitigation, feed system pressure drop, mass gauging uncertainty, ferric nitrate contamination mitigation, and subsystem filter sizing. Most of my experience was on the service module propulsion subsystem which is a regulated NTO/MMH bipropellant system. -
Intern - Government RelationsAmerican Institute Of Aeronautics And Astronautics May 2006 - Aug 2006Reston, VaDuring the summer of 2006 I was an intern at AIAA in Reston, VA. My position at AIAA was in the government relations group. While there I drafted press releases on aerospace topics, contacted AIAA industry partners, attended congressional committee meetings, and helped organize staffer events. Since the majority of my experiences up to 2006 were highly technical in nature, this was an opportunity to learn more about the business/relationship side of the aerospace field. It was also a chance to learn more about AIAA.
