• Responsible for every facet of clinical operations including: process flow, staff operations and development, customer service, financial performance, capital planning, and educational development. • Worked closely with hospital administration, physicians, and other health care providers to organize an efficient patient flow through the surgical process while ensuring excellent clinical care and outcomes 24 hours a day year round. • Required to trouble shoot and resolve conflicts while providing service recovery. • Responsible for 26 registered nurses and 7 ACPs working in 3 distinct areas generating more than $11.3 million dollars in revenue and $1.7 million dollars in expenses Selected Achievements➢ Developed, led, and executed comprehensive educational plan to increase the number of certified nurses within the PACU area. Increased the number of certified nurses from 0% in 2005 to 60% in 2008 for the Adult PACU. Mentored an additional 40 nurses across the Baptist Health System to complete either their CPAN or CAPA certification. Set the benchmark within the system for percentage of certified nurses.➢ Set the benchmark, within Surgical Services for the Health System, in employee satisfaction and job performance in every category in the 2007 NDNQI employee satisfaction survey.➢ Improved PACU efficiency from 2005 to 2007: increased total patient hours by 10% while decreasing non-revenue generating work loads by 30% for extended stay patients and 73% for overnight patients within the same time frame. ➢ Developed comprehensive competency based orientation program for Nurse Managers, PACU Nurses, and PACU ACPs.➢ Founded the Nurse Managers’ Council for the Downtown Campus, nominated for and Chaired the council.➢ Instrumental in designing, budgeting, and equipment selection for hospital expansion projects involving surgical services.
