Responsible for the preparation of financial budgets, analytical review of the business, variance analysis against budget, business case preparation and evaluation, post launch analysis and other management reporting leading to decision support. Duties and responsibilities include:-Prepare and deliver accurate accounts as defined by relevant accounting and reporting standards-Interpret and communicate underlying messages within financial statements-Develop action plans with business managers to respond to budget and cost reports-Analyse and interpret cost, revenue and budgetary information-Develop and implement effective accounting, revenue assurance and treasury processes-Review processes and systems for efficiency, integrity and compliance-Build and maintain positive relationships with external auditors and other third parties-Evaluate and improve processes to deliver accurate and timely tax returns and/or tax reporting/ forecasting,-Cashflow management,-Maintainance of the local ERPCurrently I’m also responsible for the implementation of the Group ERP system in Malta. This involves a lot of interaction with various stakeholders both at a locally and overseas, intensive work to achieve very tight deadlines, planning as well as massive data migrations.

During this period I was responsible for the Credit Control, Revenue Control, Revenue Assurance, ERP Support and Roaming teams. I reported directly to the Head of Finance and had a team of fifteen persons reporting to me. Duties and responsibilities included:- Evaluate and improve cash collection processes- Ensure positive customer relationship in the process of collecting receivables - Analyse and compile segmented bad debts indicators and monitor them to control serious arrears in payments in order to minimise their impact on the company’s financial results- Initiate all action, including legal, required to recover debts - Identify and assess risk within business projects and proposed change to processes / systems- Develop strategic and operational plans to manage risk resulting from existing and emerging legal, regulatory and ethical requirements- Apply best practice risk management methodologies- Evaluate existing controls and implement improvements that reduce residual risk in a cost effective way- Ensure smooth running of the ERP system- Manage user requirements and ensure these are implemented effectively- Re-organise the roaming team- Gain market share relating to roaming traffic- Improve the profitability relating to the roaming businessIn the period April 08 and March 09 I was responsible for the implementation of an ERP system which needed to replace the existing accounting system. Duties and responsibilities included:- preparation of monthly management accounts (including variance analyses), - preparation of financial statements as submitted to MFSA,- liaising with external and internal auditors,- VAT returns, - preparation of statistical data, - internal controls, - management reports, - administration of the accounting software, - preparation of monthly payroll,- leading and participating in particular projects within the organization.
