I have a passion for community health and evidence-based medicine and research. I am interested in child global health and social inclusion.I am a paediatrician with allocated time for research. I completed an NIHR academic clinical fellow. I have been a research fellow at the University of Oxford, QMUL, Bristol University, Institute of Cancer Research, Zvitambo Institute, Zimbabwe, and the UK Health Security Agency. I am interested in the fields of research in childhood, immunity, infectious disease. I have led a number of healthcare quality improvement interventions in the UK and Rwanda. I have contributed to nutrition health education interventions, domestic violence and child safeguarding research in the UK, particularly interventions that can improve systems' response to its disclosure in health and social care. I have been involved in a number of evaluations of medical education interventions, notably a primary care education programme in Palestine and the development of the Masters in Child Health, Palestine.I have a Masters in Clinical Education and focussed my research on trainee wellbeing, widening participation and discrimination and harassment in medicine. I have a Masters in Paediatric Infectious Disease from the University of Oxford. I won a Clarendon Scholarship for my research on inflammation pathways in premature infants in Zimbabwe. Outside of my NHS work, my interests include climate change and health, equitable food systems and refugee health. I am a big believer in the power of collective singing! I like to sing in hospital and community choirs, especially around Christmas!
