Worked at The Tennessean Newspaper as a full time machine operator from 2004 to 2006. Job duties included staging and preparing the inserting machines for the pre-pack for the Sunday Tennessean Newspaper. Also responsible for ensuring quality of product and making sure the correct quantities were packaged and staged in the appropriate areas. I then moved up to Press Operator II in 2006 and was responsible for the set up and loading of the rolls of paper that fed the printing press. Then I was promoted to Press Operator III which included duties of running the printing units, setting ink and water balance, keeping color registration within specifications, running the half fold and quarter fold folding units, keeping cutoffs and side lays aligned. In 2014 I was promoted to PIC (person in charge) of the USA Today crew with duties of planning out the daily production runs each day and ensuring all jobs were built, correct paper was ordered, ensure paperwork was accurate and entered in the company portal on a daily basis for all production runs, coordinate between the pressroom and mailroom to ensure all production goals were met.
