Stantec provides a variety of engineering, design, and management services across every industrial market. My engineering work has consisted of the detailed design of piping systems and leading a piping design team comprised of engineers and CAD designers.My responsibilities include producing engineering documentation consisting of calculations, analysis, reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings. The detailed design drawings generally consist of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), isometric piping drawings, and pipe support drawings required for fabrication and installation of the piping systems.I am also responsible for leading the piping design team through the final stages of design and into construction support. My duties include answering and/or coordinating all construction questions, final P&ID red lines, supporting joint venture engineering partners that are developing piping isometrics, and addressing all remaining mechanical/piping items.

I support continued plant and system operations through maintenance, repairs, upgrades, master planning, and on-call support for the high-pressure fire loop system as a member of the facility engineering group. I develop calculations, develop system upgrade project requirements, review and write procedures, analyze test data, and work with maintenance personnel to maintain system operability within applicable plant site, NFPA, ASME NQA-1, and DOE requirements.

Zachry Engineering Corporation provides a variety of engineering, design, and management services to the electric power industry and other selected industrial markets. My engineering work has consisted of the detailed design of various systems for a reconfigured computer data center and combined cycle power plants. I also have combined cycle field engineering experience which includes the full construction life cycle through startup, commissioning, and turnover.My responsibilities include producing engineering documentation consisting of calculations, studies, analysis, reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings. The detailed design drawings generally consist of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), isometric piping drawings, and pipe support drawings required for fabrication and installation of the piping systems. For each of the systems I design, I write comprehensive system descriptions describing system components, overall system design, control philosophy, and operating considerations. The system descriptions are used for training plant personnel on the design and operation of each system.I am responsible for writing equipment specifications, reviewing vendor bids, and recommending vendors based on technical compliance and economic factors for all of the mechanical equipment, tanks, pumps, valves, strainers, expansion joints, pipe materials, and pipe schedules required for all of the systems I design. After procuring the necessary equipment, I am responsible for reviewing vendor submittals including equipment drawings, pump curves, materials lists, instrumentation lists, process diagrams, and fabrication schedules to ensure that project and system design requirements are met.

I developed a method to study nano-aluminum and water combustion reaction properties to determine the feasibility of developing an underwater cutting torch device. I compared the heat transfer characteristics of the thermite reaction to those of a gas torch through the use of high speed digital and infrared technology.
