As a commercially focused international General Counsel experienced in the Automotive, Manufacturing, Telecoms and FMCG sectors, I strongly believe that in-house lawyers should be entrepreneurial and generate success for their businesses. This requires a broad business orientated outlook and confidence to make commercial decisions, in addition to possessing well-honed legal skills. Before I qualified as a solicitor in private practice, my career started as a marketing manager for a small boutique marketing business servicing a number of high profile brands. I soon realised that providing in-house legal assistance enabled me to combine what I liked about industry with my legal training and made best use of my commercial acumen. As a board director, I enjoy driving sector-leading businesses forward and utilising my commercial legal ability to best effect. On a personal note, integrity and values are important to me as is having a sense of humour. I am also an unashamed petrol-head having driven many of Europe's most famous race tracks.
