Provide instruction to students in physical education content area. Communicate information with the High School Coordinator. Knowledgeable of general UIL rules and regulations and is the first resource of information for coaches. I am responsible for educating all staff and providing assurance that the NISD policies and procedures are followed. Perform other duties in athletics as deemed necessary by the High School Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and Athletic Office. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies and administrative regulations. Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer (s). Work cooperatively with administrators, team leaders, department coordinators, content specialists and other staff as needed to meet curriculum objectives. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP). Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers. Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Assist in maintaining student records and provide feedback as requested by teacher. Conduct instructional activities outlined by teacher and works with students to develop various skills. Assist with supervision of students with instruction or activities that may fall within or outside the classroom environment. Assist with maintaining a safe, neat and orderly classroom. Follow district guidelines in maintaining classroom management, discipline and confidentiality. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. Participate in required staff development, faculty meetings, special events, and district sponsored activities. Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
