My career to date has been spent within the marketing communications industry, and through this I have worked with some of the worlds most respected brands - in a broad variety of sectors (From digital marketing communications through to full marketing planning)- on an astonishingly wide range of briefs from Digital Marketing Strategy through to extensive Social Media Platform development. My company Bright Blue Day has developed into a well recognised world-class integrated digital communications organisation, and as it turns out we are based in the fastest growing digital economy in the UK - Silicon South = the conurbation of Bournemouth and Poole.I have always made time to ‘give something back’, and developing and inspiring talent interests me greatly. I am involved in several initiatives that have this as their key focus. My Non Exec Career includes sitting on committees and boards of the IoD and BU, as well as advising, mentoring and investing in several SME organisations throughout the UK. The Media School at Bournemouth University is one of the largest of its kind in the world and has a global reputation for combining research and teaching practice. • Creative England
    Creative England 2011-01 - 2019-12
Creative England was set up to support businesses across the whole of the creative sector. In the South particularly we have an exceptionally vibrant sector. As a mentor the role is to partner with a local creative company who have shown that they can innovate and succeed. The role of a mentor is to guide, advise and help steer the company in its development, as well as advising the individual in their personal development. I have also guest lectured at the quarterly mentee sessions.
  • Institute Of Directors
    Institute Of Directors 2009-01 - 2014-12

My role on the committee, with other members, was to monitor the integrity of the company’s financial reporting. We also have a role in checking the company’s internal financial controls, reviewing them and their operation and ensuring that necessary risk management systems are in place. We are responsible for overseeing the company’s external audit process and relations with the external auditor, including appointment, reappointment and removal. (Including independence and objectivity) We also have a role in fraud prevention, making sure people have opportunities to alert on improprieties and abuses ensuring independent investigation of any such matters. I completed 2 full terms on the committee.

My role as a mentor was to listen, advise and help steer 6 Bournemouth University students in their quest to develop and launch a successful campaign. Our campaign was to get 'thanks' for fire-fighters. See the campaign here. http://www.thankstofirefighters.co.uk/

****On the 2nd April 2012 we attended an awards evening where our campaign was voted 4th out of 42 across the country. A great achievement. Team member Joe was also awarded 1st in the best sales officer category, partly for his superb web site and our overall marketing campaign****

The Chairman, Chris Brady, assembled an advisory team who met every quarter. His board members represented a broad range of industries, some from the local reigon, but many from other UK cities and international business centres. We discussed the business landscape with the aim of ensuring the school was well informed and current in its teaching and practices.
