The ability to prioritise and proactively meet deadlines was essential to success, as was the desire to deliver the highest quality of service, drive forward improvements, and act with openness and integrity in support of team members.

In this role I was responsible for the management of a small team of investigators, working directly to a senior leadership team.Requiring tact, diplomacy, pragmatism, precision in judgement and a deep knowledge of criminal investigations and associated policy and doctrine, I was responsible for conducting and overseeing an array of sensitive investigations into the conduct and investigative output of police officers, as well as ensuring compliance with legislation and doctrine, and assurance of Service Police investigative activity.In addition to this primary role, during my tenure I utilised an Advanced Disclosure Officer qualification to design and deliver a 'Disclosure Roadshow', travelling around the UK to educate and upskill members of the Royal Military Police in all matters concerning the management of criminal investigations and compliance with the Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act. This led directly to briefing Staff Officers employed at Headquarters Provost Marshal (Army), and the updating of organisation-wide doctrine.

Serving as a member of the Royal Military Police, I worked in a variety of locations and roles as follows:Hohne, Germany - in the rank of Corporal, I was predominantly employed as a Military Police Officer, responsible daily for law enforcement and conflict resolution, policing the military population and working in conjunction with the German Civil Police. During this assignment, I also deployed to Iraq for seven months, providing a combination of protective security to the Officer Commanding, and conducting criminal investigations in an austere and incredibly demanding environment. Bulford, Wiltshire - in the rank of Corporal and Sergeant, roles included:- Law enforcement and conflict resolution with a Provost Company;- Data collation and management with the Out of Area Police Office:- Attachment to the Special Investigation Branch and passing of the Level 3 Investigations Course (being awarded the coveted Top Student award);- A two-year assignment to the Specialist Crime Team as a qualified military detective;- A deployment to Afghanistan, conducting criminal investigations, and coronial investigations into the deaths of Service personnel, on behalf of HM Coroner; and- Assignment to Cyprus as a Military detective, conducting serious and complex investigations into serious sexual offences, violence, complex fraud and other criminal matters.
