Started out my Working life as a painter and decorator the weekend after I finished shool whilst waiting for college to start. I started a mechanical engineering course at Derby college to cut it short for a full time apprenticeship at Selecta Tyre Ltd. 6 years later I decided to enter a new challenge as a Rail Track engineer and I achieved NCQ level 2. During the training I was looking for temporary work to keep me going until I found a job in the rail industry but that opportunity never arrose due to cuts in government funding with network rail.The temporary job I took at Hanson building products lasted a further 7 years and I gained multiple skills whilst there including concrete mixing and ingredients, using heavy machinery to move heavy product. making cool slab flooring, box culverts, bridge decking, stairs, custodial walls and many bespoke products.My roles have changed a few times over the 7 years ranging from general operative to mixer operator, production loader/packer, overhead crane operator, steel fixing and Team Leader.Although I served many a happy year at Hansons I was ready for another adventure and 6 years into working at Denby I've gone from loading pottery for production to production sprayer to Lead Operator of flatware 9A. Unfortunately my role changed because of cost cutting measures and a department shift change from 2 teams 4 on 4 off to regular mon-friday. The change in pay is way too drastic for me to consider staying. I always went above and beyond for that department and company. My hobbies include 3D modelling and design and producing printed parts for uses in a range of things with the majority of it being fishing equipment. I enjoy experimenting with small electronics and basic python coding and I do enjoy a good video game session. I never say never and its very rarely I say can't!
