I have been a youth worker for 5 years with Limerick Youth Service (Detached and Outreach Youth Worker) and have also previously spent a number of months as a part time youth worker at the West End Youth Centre. I am extremely passionate about my role within Limerick youth service, and thrive on providing advice,support and encouragement to young people to reach their potential. I graduated from Limerick Institute of Technology in 2018 with a degree in Applied social studies in social care BA (Hons) . I would describe myself as a well driven , ambitious individual with great communication and leadership skills. I have a keen interest in working in the Homeless, youth and disability sectors of social care. I have also previously volunteered with the Irishtown Garda Youth Diversion Project for six months in 2012. On my 2nd Year college placement i was placed with MidWest Simon community from January 2016 until May 2016, where I provided advice and Information for service users, tenancy support and helping with the food bank on a daily basis. My 3rd Year of College Placement commenced with Extern in September 2016 and finished in December 2016. With Extern, i shadowed staff from the Janus project which provides tailored support for young people from the ages of 8-17.
