Fleet Support Engineer
Current• Work with Senior Fleet Engineer (80x), working with train maintenance supplier to facilitate technical improvements with safety, reliability, availability, defects, operational interface, and network interface.• Works in partnership with Engineering Change Controller to ensure delay attribution for 80x fleet is undertaken to a high level of integrity, ability to interpret and sort delay attribution data into a useable format, carrying out detailed investigations as required with all stakeholders to provide root cause(s) and specific recommendation(s), ability to implement recommendations, all relevant period data is being analysed to provide valuable leading indicators.• Work as a part of the Engineering team supporting colleagues with any necessary task to ensure a safe and reliable train service in a cost-effective manner is provided to our customers. • Provide engineering support to members of the engineering team for the 80x train technical issues/projects and investigations as required. • Assists audit function of maintenance supplier(s), formally and informally through day-to-day activities. • Represent the Fleet as the Technical representative in relation to material supply or warranty-related issues for the current fleet.• Provide expert technical knowledge during fleet investigations both internally and externally and assist the train service provider to maintain/better current in-service performance.• On-call responsibility for concessions management and engineering emergencies.• Develop sound working relationships with the train service providers to enable full and free disclosure of KPIs relevant to the management of the train supply agreement(s). Maintain a regular presence on depot to keep abreast of all local activities and their effect on fleet performance and safety. • Review technical aspects of NIRs and their effect on the fleets.
