An experienced practitioner and clinician who has training in delivering group-based interventions, underpinned by CBT theory, to individuals convicted of criminal activities and intent for varying offences (domestic violence, theft, robbery, burglary, assault, manslaughter, murder, etc.) to reduce the likelihood of recidivism. An experienced integrative psychotherapist who has achieved qualified status and is working towards BACP accreditation whilst completing their MSc studies at the University of Derby. Currently completing a research study with the support of the Probation Service exploring observed immutability in the process of identity development for those convicted of/self-reporting for same-sex intimate partner violence. I deliver psychotherapy using an integration of person-centered, attachment, and CBT theories. Current clinical practice experience includes working with self-harm, suicide crisis, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, shame, hypervigilance, hypercriticality, LGBTQ+, aspects of trauma (not specialist work), and men’s mental health.I aspire to develop work and practice in the field of counselling & psychotherapy, specifically looking to provide a platform and pathway for LGBTQ+ individuals seeking support with focus on understanding the intersectioning aspects of identity and how difficulties within this may infer the onset of mental health challenges/outcomes, proposing treatment through the foundations of the therapeutic relationship as well as my integrative theories to foster identity integration and acceptance.
