I have a vast and varied background, which began in the Navy as an Electronics Technician aboard a submarine. After securing a degree in Culinary Management, I pursued a career in hospitality, and oversaw 6 different shops at the West End Market at Virginia Tech. That’s where I completed several leadership courses that piqued my interest in Organizational Management and led me to earn an advanced degree.Throughout my career, I’ve steered organizations, as well as individuals, toward achieving their goals. During my time in the Navy, I helped my fellow submariners sort out personal problems. As a Chef, I decreased waste and generated more revenue at Virginia Tech’s #1 Dining Hall. And, as private school development director, I built a relationship with a nonprofit for scholarship funding, which in turn added more students to the roster. My skills as a pro-active problem solver allow me to effectively assess any situation and ask the right questions to find the best solution.
