A proven track record as a successful supervisor and work stream lead within the Nuclear Industry.In August 2016, I was one of only 4 Supervisors in the UK that achieved the qualification to operate the first dry fuel storage facility in the UK at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station.A dry fuel storage facility is a method of storing spent nuclear fuel that has already been partially cooled in the spent fuel pond. The fuel is stored into a high integrity stainless steel canister which is then seal welded, and placed within a large, protective steel and concrete cask. Dry Fuel Storage Facilities (or Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations (ISFSI)) are used widely across the USA and Europe but this facility was the first in the UK. After the end of Sizewell B campaign 1, I was then contracted by Holtec to work at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station South Africa, again a first for Holtec and myself as a startup project in Dry Fuel Storage from start to completion.In 2018 I had the pleasure of being invited to work on the ISF-2 project in Chernobyl as a Work Stream Lead for Holtec International, again a Dry Fuel Storage project but it was to set up and commission a new facility. This proved my most challenging job to date, due to the environment, the language barrier and modern modifications to some old technologies already implemented that had become obsolete. However, the completion of this was my biggest achievement in my career.Other roles in my career have included, manual machinist, design and building of CNC machines, mentoring apprentices, and supervisor of an offshore mechanical maintenance team.I am hard-working enthusiastic individual who takes pride in doing an excellent job in everything he does, can multi-task in a demanding engineering environment and can resolve complex technical issues by coming up with fast efficient solutions.
