  I have served as a counselor and problem-solver for large and small employers in the Southeast and beyond for more than 30 years. I provide guidance to employers as they navigate the complex array of laws and regulations applicable to the employment relationship, including discrimination laws, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and wage and hour issues. If employers face legal or administrative claims resulting from their employees and employment practices, I defend and resolve those disputes in line with each client’s goals. I also lead Parker Poe’s Employment & Benefits Group. We represent clients in litigation and before administrative agencies, including responding to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges, Department of Labor (DOL) wage and hour disputes, OSHA citations, and state and federal employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, and other claims. We also provide employment-related services as part of mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions. We draft and negotiate employment agreements, employee benefits and executive compensation plans, and confidentiality and noncompete protections. Additionally, we provide training, compliance advice, and general counseling to in-house counsel, executives, and human resources (HR) professionals.
