Supported the ramp-up of a chemical processing facility, focused on improving bottleneck performance, increasing on-spec output, and reducing downtime. Delivered a 220% improvement to output, through technical problem-solving and organisational improvements.

I initially worked as part of a consulting team delivering operational improvements within a pharmaceutical environment. My first workstream focused on streamlining of high frequency manual tasks, where we achieved a 75% reduction in length of the most frequent task by implementing templates and an improved data management system. I then focused on solving the most impactful technical failures and we successfully solved and eliminated the top 5 causes of failures, by using structured problem solving methodology.On my following engagement I supported the launch of a productivity improvement project within a law firm. My focus was providing team leaders with training, and the right facts and data, to manage their teams effectively. This involved a total revamp of the departments productivity management and reporting structures and building training from scratch.

I worked primarily behind the bar and on the floor of the Clapham North Pub, serving food and drinks, and interacting with customers.This role offered a variety of challenges looking after every customer and operating under high pressure on busy nights.

At Tutor Lothian we delivered bespoke tutoring sessions for individuals studying for National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher exams. I co-founded the business with a friend while studying Engineering full-time at Oxford University. My role focused on managing a team of up to 12 tutors and handling client relations. It was a great opportunity to learn about how to support a team of busy individuals with varying experience, while consistently delivering against high client expectations.
