Responsible for the court’s regular and arraignment dockets consisting of 80-130 felony and misdemeanor cases on a daily basis. Conducted the domestic violence docket consisting of 25-50 family violence cases. Tried a felony Part-A jury trial as first chair on a kidnapping 2nd-degree charge. Prepared a Part A Burglary case for trial with 30 plus witnesses and 10 plus counts. Prepared a DWI case for trial as first chair. Prepared an evading responsibility/DWI case for trial as first chair. Prepared for a violation of probation hearing, where the defendant had six new underlying arrests. Reviewed search and arrest warrants for probable cause. Prepared for a firearm safety hearing pursuant to C.G.S 29-38c.

Prepared a identity theft case for trial as first chair. Conducted over ten violation of probation hearings including one where the defendant owed 12 years. Conducted three firearm safety hearings pursuant to C.G.S 29-38c. Reviewed search and arrest warrants for probable cause.

Responsible for the prosecution of criminal housing matters through the Supervisory Assistant State's Attorney for Housing Matters in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney.Promote full and prompt compliance with housing matters, which include violations of state or local building, fire, health and housing safety laws that apply to residential and commercial properties. Assure that criminal landlord-tenant laws such as criminal lockout, illegal termination of essential services and criminal damage to landlord’s property by a tenant are uniformly, fully and effectively enforced.Conducted trainings for the Norwalk and Stamford Health Departments regarding arrest and search warrant procedures. Contributed to the city of Stamford Housing Safety and Zoning Initiative board meetings. Tried a court-trial to verdict as first chair under the criminal zoning statute 8-12. Routinely worked with the Stamford Fire Marshal’s office regarding the abatement of fire hazards including lack of proper egresses and tampering with commercial sprinkler systems. Routinely worked with the Stamford Health Department regarding complaints of hoarding and aided in developing strategies to deal with the hoarding issue and the court system. Seized over $150,000 and closed SEVEN illegal massage parlors commonly linked to human trafficking with the Stamford Health Department. Reviewed search and arrest warrants for probable cause, including one where bomb making material was seized.

Represented low-income clients in felony and misdemeanor cases. Researched and wrote motions and memoranda on a variety of criminal law issues. Conducted client interviews and provided assistance in case investigation.

Worked with Attorney Thomas Ullmann and assisted other attorneys with writing motions, investigation, legal research and interviewing clients and witnesses involved in felony cases. Also worked on a capital murder case State v. Steven Hayes.

Assisted in criminal cases in JDs and GAs throughout the state of Connecticut. Sat second chair and assisted with all phases of trial preparation with multiple GA criminal trials. Researched and drafted motions and memoranda of law for felony and misdemeanor cases, including motions in limine, motions to strike, and motions to compel.

Worked with the Public Health Committee on the Paid Sick Leave Act and other proposed bills before the committee. Prepared summaries of public bills. Researched legislative requests from representatives and senators. Analyzed legal implications of proposed legislation.

Department of Public Safety and Consumer Protection. Researched legal issues concerning First Amendment rights of inmates. Aided attorneys in investigation and prepared witnesses for hearings in the Department of Public Safety. Assisted in investigation for the Department of Consumer Protection and conducted research concerning the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA).
