• Supervise 40 employees across a variety of departments.• Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing in the Grinding, Finish Machine Inspection, Turning, Milling, Fitting, Electrical, Paint shop and Sub Contract Grinding departments.• Manage and Implementation of the day to day operations of the shop floor.• Raise and distribute purchase orders.• Liaise with suppliers to ensure that components are delivered on time.• Chair weekly production meeting with manufacturing engineers and buyers.• Compile BOM’S for new machine orders and give customers accurate delivery dates.• Liaise with engineering on any changes and generate SOP’s• Manage gauge calibration and defective material.• Responsible for all aspects of staff welfare, including daily motivation, and where necessary dealing with discipline issues.• Member of the health & safety committee.• Member of the business improvement team (Trained as a lean six sigma green belt).

• Fully responsible for the organisation and implementation of the above functions.• Responsible for inbound & outbound sub contract Grinding.• Hands on role, including CNC Cylindrical Grinding and Finish Machine Inspector.• Delivering appropriate staff training in these departments.• Member of the health and safety committee

• Precision CNC Cylindrical and Surface Grinding to high levels of accuracy on complex components with self Inspection• Responsible for final Inspection/pass off of finished CNC Cylindrical and surface grinding machines (including Mechanical Geometry, Repeatability, Calibration, Test Grinds and Functional Tests)

• Grinding various components and exotic materials (Titanium, Nickel Alloy & Carbon Steels)• All Grinding completed to a high level of accuracy as required for the Rolls Royce Trent Engine (Aerospace)

• Working within the Customer Service Department I was responsible for initial proposal through to final customer run off on CNC Cylindrical, Surface and Creep Feed Grinding Machines.• Managing full turnkey projects for customers including sourcing all fixturing, tooling, grinding process, time studies and costings to ensure a cost-effective solution.• Travelled in the UK and worldwide on new machine installations including commissioning, applications and to deliver operator training to customers.

• Working within the applications department• Responsible for performing general & customer specific demonstrations to potential customers• Working closely with the technical sales department • This role also included national travel delivering operator training

• Completed all aspects of the Grinding role including Cylindrical, surface and creep feed.• Main role was CNC Cylindrical Grinder producing high quality components from engineering drawings.• Using various inspection methods including conventional measuring equipment, form trace, tallyrond, CMM and shadowgraph.
