My role then involved: working on Code for Sustainable Homes projects - helping the Code assessor by inputting information into pre-assessments and design stage assessments, completing project trackers and editing and completing compliance letters; and working on BREEAM projects - helping the BREEAM assessor by inputting information into pre-assessments and design stage assessments, inputing information into BREEAM reports, completing project trackers and editing and completing compliance letters.As part of this role, training and CPD hours have involved: in house BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes training; in house water calculation and daylighting training; CIBSE Introduction to Building Services - one day CPD course; CIBSE Introduction to Low and Zero Carbon Technologies - one day CPD course; and  currently undergoing in house SAP training.

This role involved: the undertaking of a Skills Needs Analysis (SNA) for the water sector as part of the Built Environment Sustainability Training programme;  the design of questionnaires to be conducted with employers and training providers throughout Wales; conducting 61 telephone interviews with various professionals, organisations and training providers within the built environment sector; analysis of the interview data; and the drafting / completion of the 13,000 word (with 3,000 word appendix) Skills Needs Analysis water sector report which formed the basis of what training would be provided to the sector.Various other tasks were undertaken during my time at the Energy Saving Trust such as: researching various community projects across the UK; attending programme board meetings; and  taking calls during busy periods in the advice centre.

My work included: Desk research looking at various environmental programs and various behaviour change policies to help inform the 'Changing Times' pilot project. Helping to conduct focus groups with local students on the state of accommodation, energy use and behaviours.  Helping to conduct street surveys on energy use and behaviours around Aberystwyth.The main contribution to Ymlaen came in the form of my dissertation project which was conducted in coordination with the organisation.  Project looked at how conversation groups could contribute to facilitate behaviour change in relation to energy efficiency amongst students Conducted around 6 conversation groups with students. Each conversation group involved a series of informal talks, presentations, videos and tasks to engage with their behaviours. Discussed what a conversation is in a British policy context, if they changed the students behaviours and whether they had the potential to work as a tool for behaviour change. Concluded that with certain behaviours (depending on the detail they were discussed) the conversation groups helped to change behaviours and had the potential to work as a tool for behaviour change.
