I accept work writing Crystal Reports for any database that can interface with that software, which includes most modern databases. If a database can't be read by Crystal Reports, it can likely be imported into one that can.I still do work for my former employer, the Exan Group, through which I do projects for dental schools, but also work with diverse clients not affiliated with dentistry, such as construction companies and realtors. Anything goes, really!

I started as a technical support analyst for axiUm, an academic dental software suite, meaning that it was meant to cover the organizational needs of dental schools from the clinical to the financial. For the first three years, I mainly worked as a troubleshooter for the software and its database, which was Oracle based.My aptitude for Crystal Reports and SQL led me to specialize and eventually become the leader of a team dedicated to reporting services. Over the years, I worked directly with almost all of Exan's clients, which included nearly all Universities in Canada and the United States that offered a degree in dentistry.I was also chosen to train some of Exan's clients and staff to write their own Crystal Reports, for which purpose I created a three day program that went from mere basics to most of the more advanced functionality of the Crystal Reports software, as it applied specifically to reporting on the axiUm database. This course was in high demand, and I taught it to small groups at the Exan location and at dental schools abroad.Exan's annual Summit meeting in Vancouver provided more opportunities to showcase my skills. Initially only enlisted to perform in person technical support, I was eventually chosen to moderate client focus groups on Crystal Report problems and applications. From there, I moved on to the production and delivery of live presentations on specific axiUm reporting applications, every one of which was full to capacity.As a staff member who received constant feedback over the years from Exan's clients, I was consulted often by axiUm developers when new features or enhancements were being discussed. This often revolved around the various axiUm report interfaces, but I was also asked to sit in with the design team when the treatment planning module was rebuilt from the ground up, and many of my suggestions made the final cut.

During this time I wrote reports for many users of N-PAIS, a non-profit contact management system. The Southlands Group, which owned the software, was my direct client for most of this work, but through it I worked for Red Cross Canada, Red Cross Australia, and Covenant House, in addition to generic reports to be shipped with the software to all clients. My relationship with Covenant House Vancouver was strong enough that they chose to continue working with me directly after my stint with the Southlands Group was complete.
