About Jonathan Dena
I am a son, father, husband, brother, and friend before everything else. My removal from these roles at an early age is my motivating fuel to create opportunities for others to invest in these roles within their households or communities. As a product of generational poverty, trauma, and parentless households, I strive to provide resources to bridge the gaps of disparities and enhance community development through a just and equitable framework. I spent many years navigating the streets as a homeless youth, the carceral system, and discovered the education system as an escape and means of upward mobility. I joyfully share the experience of underrepresented perseverance and passion, while creating accessible pathways. My dedication is to youth, families, and emerging professionals to receive the necessary tools and resources to become impact leaders and social innovators.I chose to become an Urban Planning professional due to my experiences with housing (or lack of) and the social impacts of land use on our communities and personal development. I volunteered with various community organizations to empower, worked with municipal governments to sustain, and am now leading philanthropic and non-profit ventures to become proactive in community advancement. I am also a real estate and development professional passionate about creating and sustaining communities through the built environment. Lastly, I have a founder's spirit and drive, co-creating innovations to enhance or transform products and services. Let's build something together -- Alone, we are great; Together, we are greater!
