My career in visual communications began when I was in college. I traded a really nice bike for a 35mm camera and took a beginning photography class. I was hooked!! I apprenticed for two years with a leading commercial photographer in Bakersfield, then branched out on my own doing freelance photography. I began offering graphic design assistance to my clients (can I be totally honest here?) as a way of making sure that my photographs would be displayed properly -- Yes, I'm serious. In early 1986 I purchased my first Macintosh computer and began very seriously concentrating on the graphics and learning everything I could learn about commercial printing.In 1994 my "solo" routine and lifestyle took a major turn when I brought on a full business partner, moved out of my house and into an office, hired employees, and became incorporated. Whew. The business grew to the point that we relocated to Visalia where most of our clients were located. The relocation allowed us to expand our services to include operating a "service bureau" offering very specialized technical services to our growing clientele. In 1998 we purchased the area's first large format digital printer, and as the saying goes, "The rest is history". We uncrated the device, set it up, plugged it in, and started making money with it!I love being directly involved in the problem solving aspect of the industry for all of the "out of the box" projects that come our way. That seems to be what we're known for.
