As a graduate research assistant for Dr. Gary Pope, I am responsible for the design and execution of experimental plans to establish guidelines for the preparation of polymers for the flooding of tight rocks without loss of permeability. I approach this using a combination of filtration characterization of polymer size and core flooding.

As a postdoctoral fellow, I am responsible for defining research projects, designing and performing experiments, and writing papers. I split my time between two laboratories: (1) the Asbury Lab at the University of Washington and (2) the Biggins Lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The Asbury Lab is a biophysics lab whose members perform single molecule experiments with TIRF and optical trapping microscopes. The Biggins Lab focuses on molecular biology and is the place where Asbury Lab members isolate proteins and protein complexes for their biophysical experiments.
