About Jonathan Dymond
During my time as a student at Western Washington University, I worked for the WWU Foundation office as a Phonathon caller. It was in this position that I discovered I had an aptitude for fundraising. When I graduated in the fall of 2013, I took the job of Assistant Director of Annual Giving, and began managing the Phonathon program. Having to manage 40+ student employees, many of whom have never had a job before, was a great learning experience. Over the next two years, I would be instrumental in implementing several new programs and initiatives at WWU - including crowdfunding and Give Days. I was promoted to Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Digital & Affinity Campaigns in the summer of 2017, after completing 2 successful Give Days, and 2 full years of managing the crowdfunding platform, on top of managing the Phonathon program still. I took the position of Foundation Development Officer, with Whatcom Community College in the spring of 2018 to gain more experience with face to face solicitations and leadership level gift work.

This position is responsible for growing the donor base of the WCC Foundation through individual and personal solicitation. The FDO is responsible for personally identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting & stewarding a portfolio of both annual giving and major gift prospects. - Individual and personal solicitations-Planning, writing and implementing a calendar of written and digital appeals to the donor base and community.-Establishing an Alumni group and alumni participation through monthly newsletters, individual communications, focus groups, surveys, appeals and digital opportunities. -Maintained a portfolio of leadership annual giving and major gift donors and prospects. -Participated in planning and implementing digital and in person events for donor engagement and cultivation. -Worked with DonorPerfect database software to create contact reports.
