My career in roofing began working as a laborer for Richard Bratland at C. Walter Smith Roofing in Everett. The list of projects is so long but here are a few of the notable projects. Paul Allen residence, Weyerhauser Mansion, Scott paper mill. We installed Derbigum, Siplast, Sarnafil and many other roofing systems (Conglass). During slow times I worked for Wayne's, and Snyder roofing.After mastering the roofing trade and earning Journeyman status, I took the CTS course of study through the AGC. My ambition was to become an estimator at a commercial roofing shop, however fate would have another plan for me.I took a job working for Ray at Wetherholt and Assoc. as a field inspector and worked under Josh Mullen. I immediately took to the consulting industry as it was a mix of office and field work. The inspection, materials verification, testing and forensic aspects intrigued me.Bee consulting was an opportunity for me to become more involved in the Building Envelope industry. Chester and Jim were really great mentors that inspired me to become more active in all aspects of the industry. I became the Manager of field inspection, was responsible for implementing training procedures for the incoming inspectors.Morrison Hershfield was yet another wonderful experience as I was a senior consultant and was able to work on projects across our nation. The different climates and issues with vapor drive etc were challenging. Working in the expert witness field brought new challenges and was valuable in my development in this industry.Once our economy suffered and the work nearly halted, I decided to start a Roofing company. That was the birth of Eager roofing. We started just doing repairs, maintenance and leak investigation. As we take care of our customers our business started to grow.
