19 years service as a Royal Marine, working in some of the most arduous environments on the planet. My career as seen my learn a vast array of leadership and management experience. I have worked in broad range of roles, from a sailing instructor to a security officer. My last 3 years has seen my employed as a Establishment Assistant Security Officer of a Specialised Military Unit (SMU) home to 1800 permanent staff and approximately 25000 visitors per annum. Management skills in leading a team of security specialists in sectors such as physical, personnel, document, and information, ensuring the facility was employing best practice in order to protect itself from an ever changing national and global security picture.Oversaw the implementation of a multimillion pound physical security upgrade.Responsible for ensuring all baseline security checks and National Security vetting checks were in place and conducted. Coordinated external and internal security inspections and audits.Responsible for the site Risk Management Register, allocating risk levels and ensure remedial actions taken.Conducted briefings to superiors, staff members, visitors and stakeholders to ensure both the establishment and its assets were protected as well as reaffirming best practice to enable individuals to protect themselves in a PerSec manner. Liaised with numerous Government Security Agencies and Policing Units.Involved with critical security planning for VVIP visits and external events.
