Systems & Engineering Management program at Texas Tech University

Responsible for the Atmos Energy, West Texas, natural gas distribution system. Designs and creates technical drawings for pipeline growth/replacement projects; oversees construction/field personnel. Executes the transmission integrity management program for 125 miles of transmission main in the West Texas area. Designs, maintains, and remediates the cathodic protection system for over 2,000 miles of bare and coated steel pipelines. Performs integrity assessments including Direct Assessment, In Line Inspection, Pressure Testing, and engineering critical analyses.

Augments the active force with specialized scientific and technical skills with an emphasis on spacecraft detection, tracking, ID and characterization. Directs and coordinates satellite observation requirements between AFRL, 14AF, USSTRATCOM, AFSPC, NASIC, and others. Space Imaging Research Engineer delivers space situational awareness (SSA) observations to the operational space community for the Directed Energy Directorate's Space Electro-Optics Division. IMA leads a $5.5M/year project developing next-gen electro-optical system to advance ground-to-space imaging for AFSPC requirements. IMA directs a 12-member crew conducting satellite imaging research and operations at DoD's $250M premier optical research site. IMA oversees a 20-member team conducting maintenance, upgrades, and configuration management for a $50M satellite imaging telescope system. IMA operates laser safety, adaptive optics, control and imaging systems for nighttime laser guide star corrected active imagery experiments supporting 24-hour optical Space Situational Awareness technology development.

Second-in-command of support squadron. Leads 96 TG transportation, logistics operations and facilities management efforts; ensures environmental compliance and coordinates 96 TG’s strategic planning. Chief of plans and programs and executes 96 TG’s $70M budget. Develoops investment strategy for test capability longevity and improvement. Manages the group’s improvement and modernization initiatives through Air Force and DoD-level investment programs. Oversees information systems tech support, information assurance and RDT&E network admin/security for four squadrons, two detachments and two operating locations.

Directly assists and advises the Commander, executing duties as the Test Group focal point for developmental and operational testing of a broad range of weapon systems. Manages, supervises and coordinates activities of the 96 TG Command Section staff ensuring proper development, implementation and execution of policies and programs. Develops training and mentorship programs for data analysts and interfaces with DoD customers to define, develop and finalize test requirements. Conducts detailed data analysis, characterizes weapon system performance in sub, super and hypersonic rocket-sled tests. Authors, publishes and distributes technical reports; manages technical library and historical archive.

Leads/executes engineering projects to ensure structural and mechanical integrity of the B-1 bomber fleet. Investigates aircraft system malfunctions; develops/implements solutions for eliminating future failures. Represents airframe engineering on Functional Systems Integrity Program and Life Cycle Management Program Planning. Provides non-conforming, tech assistance to depot maintenance, field units and Defense Logistics Agency. Position coded wartime mobility as Aircraft Battle Damage Repair Engineer.
