Key engineering contributor for $139M division of $1.3B global technology and manufacturing leader of electrical connectors, interconnection systems, and wire harnesses for the automotive, consumer products, telecommunication, industrial and medical device industries. In the Manufacturing Engineering Manger role, I provided technical leadership to staff of engineers and maintenance team; responsible for new product introduction (NPI); continuous improvement of products, processes and operations; ISO systems implementation; corporate EH&S, cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives, creating a Lean culture and initiation of Six Sigma methodology.Senior engineering activities involved collaborating with corporate cross-functional teams to design, develop and evaluate new products; perform advanced engineering functions; prepare cost models for analysis of new products and variants of existing products; participate in corporate Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, development of Core Competency Centers, Low Cost Country Sourcing and streamlining of business operations.As a Manufacturing Engineer, I was a member of the Operations Management Team, with supervisory responsibilities for the Maintenance Team, Engineering Co-ops, and Technical Contractors. Additionally, I played a traditional engineering role in new program initiatives; provided guidance to product design, incorporating Design for Manufacturing (DFM); designed, specified, justified and procured equipment, tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment to satisfy technical requirements; developed manufacturing and quality plans, work instructions, and procedures to ensure products and processes are in control and stable; managed facilities modification and space planning as needed to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
