Member of the board, and shareholder of a start-up bank in Algiers.Although I withdrew from this project when I no longer shared views with the principle shareholder, building a banking business in a relatively unwelcoming and insecure environment, in an extremely complex period, was a great personal challenge. My functions included hiring senior staff, and participating in training, examining the financial feasibility of various projects including building a stock exchange activity, as well as industrial projects in different areas, liaising with press and various institutions, and planning legal defense when the continuation of the business was called into question by regulatory authorities.This bank was liquidated some years later.
