Four years ago (give or take) I was a social worker that loved technology. One dayI discovered coding on an app that must have been written for children. In my first playground there, I found a lot of joy manipulating the characters on the screen using commands that became more and more familiar.One day, it just clicked. I would take our family savings (with my wife's blessing of course), quit my job, enroll myself in a coding bootcamp and make what was becoming a passion into my career.It has turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. I found my niche and have met a lot of kindred spirits in the field. Best of all, I get to do what I'm passionate about day in and day out - bring applications to life and problem solve!I am now a software engineer with 3.5 years of professional experience, specializing on full stack development, who is currently a proud member on the engineering team at UCLA Health.On my personal time, I enjoy coding my own projects, such as a digital version of the board game "What do You Meme?" and smoking meats in my backyard.
