Expat position based in Guangzhou, China.Supervised a team of ten engineers to facilitate the transfer of new composite designs, technologies, and equipment into production. Reported directly to the CTO, while acting as the sole expatriate based in a Chinese composite manufacturing facility. Was responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements that directly led to improved quality, reduced cost, and reduced lead times throughout the entire facility. Gained knowledge of all global production requirements including; quality, sourcing, logistics, and labor. Other responsibilities included training engineers, managing communications between US design team and production, updating internal procedures, leading customer visits, and designing new equipment for use in large scale production.

Responsible for the conceptualization, design, and manufacturing of composite materials for use in high end sports equipment. Designed products for use in hockey, lacrosse, golf, stand-up paddle, and various other sporting categories. Design process included conceptualizing ideas, developing tooling/equipment, 3D CAD design, prototype manufacturing, composite laminate design, static and dynamic testing, and analyzing customer feedback. Responsibilities included transferring designs to Chinese manufacturing facilities, where engineering support was needed to train operators, manage production pilots, and implement quality requirements and documentation.

Engineering internship.Responsible for running mechanical testing and thermal analysis of composite material samples, following ASTM and ISO specifications. Provided detailed testing reports to customers in accordance to customers’ requirements, ASTM, and ISO standards. Other responsibilities included manufacturing test specimens, testing fixtures, and designing custom test procedures for non-standardized testing.
