During my time as an Assistant Foodservice Director at a sleepaway camp nestled in the picturesque Pocono Mountains, I had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the culinary experiences that shaped camp life. Working closely with the Foodservice Director and a dedicated team, I played a pivotal role in orchestrating the seamless operation of the camp's dining facilities.From sunrise to sunset, I collaborated with the kitchen staff to ensure that every meal was not only nourishing but also a memorable part of each camper's journey. I coordinated meal plans, oversaw food preparation, and maintained the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. Whether it was whipping up hearty breakfasts to energize the campers for their day's adventures or crafting delicious dinners that brought everyone together, my role was about creating more than just meals – it was about fostering a sense of community and joy around the dining table.In the heart of the Pocono Mountains, the camp environment was unique and presented its own set of challenges and opportunities.
