About Jonathan Gilbert

My name is Jon Gilbert. For over 13 years, I have fulfilled Product Management, Product Owner, Project Management, Scrum Master, and Team Leadership roles. I have led teams and projects in Agile (Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban), Waterfall, and hybrid frameworks. I’m currently working as a Project Manager and Senior Scrum Master at Humana. I serve as my PMO’s Agile expert and, thus, I also fill Agile Coach and Product Owner roles. I also assist Release Train Engineers as needed. I have coached on-prem, remote, offshore, and international teams (as a Project Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Startup VP, and QA Lead) and have had the honor of guiding over a dozen teams through Agile (Scrum/SAFe/Kanban) transformations. I have three relevant certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Product Owner (CSPO), and Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM). My PMP training has equipped me for a wide variety of projects and my Agile training has taught me to focus on cross-functionality, consistent delivery, iterative quality improvement, customer engagement, transparency, and servant leadership. I draw upon data analysis techniques to maximize transparency and help teams reach their full potential. I utilize tracking/monitoring tools, such as Azure DevOps (ADO) and Jira, to track progress, monitor intake streams, identify opportunities for improvement, present achievements/milestones, generate comprehensive analytics, and automate reporting. I am frequently complemented for my ability to coach effectively, foster cooperation, mediate problems, and facilitate communication. I take my duty to remove impediments seriously and always do all I can to ensure my teams can thrive. Being a technical, creative, and data-driven person, I pride myself on my ability to bridge the gaps between a wide variety of teams and departments (infrastructure, operation, design, QA, resource-allocation, creative, marketing, etc.). I excel at interdepartmental negotiation, stakeholder engagement, change management, and resource management. In my spare time, I work on creative writing and simple app design projects.
