Worked in the widening participation departmenthelping to establish the newly acquired status of NEWI as Glyndwr University and driving potential new students to apply for places on courses at the UniversityAssisted with the running of open days and fresher induction weeks which included actually taking responsibility in some situations for example running brain storming and ice-breaker sessions to give others an insight to what life might be like in Higher Education.I also was awarded a Certificate in Manual handling (part of the job involved lifting large objects) so being watchful for safety hazards was important. Task, Individual, Load & Environment (TILE). Ensuring that the person(s) charged with the task of lifting or moving an object was capable of lifting and or getting extra help to move it and making sure the load was being lifted in the correct manner. The "Environment" refers to looking out for tripping hazards, and for items which are of awkward size or weight and ensuring nothing can fall on someone.Working as a Student Ambassador was a very rich and rewarding experience because I got to work with students who were like me, studying at Glyndwr, and many had come from all over the world. So it was an amazing experience to learn about different cultures and even get the chance to learn to say things in different languages.

Vehicle Finance (Corporate) Spent time with daily rental & agency teams. My job was to collate and archive all the paperwork in relation to car hire (commision sheets, invoices, Residual Values (RV's), and ensure that the RV's were all signed before being sent for microfilming.The team were a lively group and I thoroughly enjoyed working there.

I was working here for 9 years. It was our family business. Our business had an approximate turnover of £1/2m.My responsibilities included but were not limited to book keeping and bank statement reconciliation.Entering details onto the database of customers from "comment" slips which we put in with the bill and this helped to carefully tweek our marketing strategy and from data provided on the comment slip we were then able to manage the correct media amongst other ways to get our message across. My other responsibility was updating the restaurant website. Responding to emails, and working along-side tour companies. Biggest Corporate customers were BAE Airbus, URENCO. I was also solely responsible for the weekly stock taking, recording it on spreadsheets. I developed and was partly responsible (along with the Management Team) for implementing consistent marketing strategies which reflected the unique ambience & history of the building. The Blue Bell Restaurant (now an Oriental Restaurant) was the oldest domestic structure still standing in the city. The Software I used was mainly Lotus 123, Windows XP, The Internet, MS Outlook, Word 2003.
