My working life after college began in the oilfield working for Weatherly Laboratories (now Pencor) doing PVT reservoir fluid studies. Although the job was interesting, it was not process engineering. Fortunately or me, an opening came up in 1996 at Cabot's Ville Platte facility, so I made the move. I now have 25+ years of chemical engineering experience working in the carbon black industry for Cabot at our Ville Platte and Canal plants, and other plants within Cabot as well as some joint ventures. I have worked in a global technical support role for Cabot supporting reactor start-ups in Xingtai and Tianjin China. I recently served as Operation Manager on an interim basis while also serving as Canal Plant Technical manager (7 years). While serving those two roles, I also acquired responsibility for warehousing operations at Cabot's Canal Plant and Jeanerette facilities. A year later, I moved on from management of Cabot's warehouses and acquired responsibility for the quality department while maintaining my role as Technical Manager. In May of 2017, I transitioned out of the plant into Cabot's specialty chemicals business product line. My primary responsibility has been supporting implementation of new technologies to support the energy materials business within the specialty carbons business at plants around the world. I continue to support projects within the energy materials business as well as the specialty carbons product line at multiple sites around the world.
